Healthcare construction has been the mainstay of OHL-Arellano's business, comprising of more than 75% of the company's annual volume. Recently, through OHL-Arellano, OHL USA was awarded a contract to extend and renew the Dr. Horacio E. Oduber Hospital in Oranjestad, Aruba.
OHL North America is strongly committed to sustainability and is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) which plays a leading role in sustainable building and construction. Many of the firm’s hospital projects have obtained LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the USGBC.
OHL healthcare clients in the United States include Baptist Health South Florida, South Miami Hospital, Miami Children’s Hospital, Boca Raton Regional Hospital, and Mercy Hospital and Mount Sinai, in Miami, just to name a few. Arellano, the South-Florida-based arm of OHL North America, recently completed a design/build parking garage for the Miami Children’s Hospital that involved such challenges as traffic control, residential limitations, and reworking of old construction.
