Lakeview Avenue Grade Separation

During the Lakeview Avenue Railroad Grade Separation project OHLA reconstructed Lakeview Avenue as a bridge so that car traffic could bypass rail traffic from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway (BNSF). The ambitious project was completed on time despite some challenges, individual parts of the project, such as the pouring of the largest bridge deck and the construction in sensitive areas, were completed early to avoid incurring costs and delays. The project team had no safety incidents in the past two years, further demonstrating OHLA USA’s commitment to safety. The scope of this project included:

  • Approximately 45,000 square feet of Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) Walls
  • Two bridges, one consisting of Cast-In-Place (CIP) Bulb Tee Girders and the other consisting of precast concrete girders
  • Jack/bore operations underneath the BNSF railroad and the Atwood channel
  • Construction of a precast underground retention basin

This project was completed in 2017.
