The construction and pre-construction of unique buildings are specialties in the Florida divisions of OHLA USA, Arellano and Building. They have completed buildings for area universities, as well as other mixed-use facilities. The Judlau arm of OHLA USA has also completed a restoration project, and is looking into more work of the type.
OHLA’s sustainable construction practices have contributed to the success of many of its projects in obtaining certifications, including Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology (BREEAM) in Europe and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification in the United States.
Building provided pre-construction and construction management services to the City of Pompano Beach for the construction of a new two-story 46,000 SF library and cultural center building. Additional scope of work includes site development, demolition work, new utility connections and other services. Site improvements include a new civic plaza featuring raised planter areas, street furniture, a lightning bolt plaza and a new paved breezeway connecting the parking areas to the civic plaza. Other vertical construction highlights include:
- Corbin Building Restoration, New York City, New York
- South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center, Miami, Florida
- Robert and Judi Prokop Newman Alumni Center, Coral Gables, Florida
- Mango Building, Florida International University, Miami, Florida
